There are many ways to join the project from community-focused fundraising opportunities to sponsorship packages with a full-suite of benefits.

To make the vision of this $17,000,000 redevelopment come to life we will need contributions from individuals, families and companies, alongside funds raised from local and central government.

There are many ways to join the project from community-focused fundraising opportunities to sponsorship packages with a full-suite of benefits.

Napier City Council has committed $6,000,000 and contributions are now being secured from a range of external sources. These include central government through the Regional Museums Fund administered by the Ministry for Culture and Heritage; the Lottery Grants Board through the Environment and Heritage Fund; and, private and gaming trusts. Hastings District Council and the Hawke's Bay Regional Council have also expressed their commitment to contribute.

Corporate Sponsorship

There will be a range of corporate sponsorship packages linked to particular parts of the building. These will include sponsorship of the new large galleries, foyer, education suites and Taonga Maori Gallery. Corporate sponsorship packages range from $15,000 to $500,000 and we will work with potential sponsors to tailor benefits to their particular needs or strategic direction.

Community Fundraising

A keystone of the project will be community fundraising. There are opportunities for individuals and families to make a contribution towards the project and to have their name associated with this prestigious building.

Fundraising will begin in late 2009 with corporate sponsorship. Community contributions will be sought from Feb 2010. Applications to grants and funds will take place in early 2010.
